Teaching seems to be quite resistant to theoretical interventions. I believe this is because what happens in institutional classrooms and teaching contexts is captured in "rigidity traps" as part of very complex social systems. However, there is no shortage of theory about what language teachers should do. Here we can identify some sub-categories:
