Feel Do Think is a reference to the possible different domains for learning - emotional, psychomotor and cognitive.
I began this website in 2007 after being inspired by the OpenSpace project of the British Open University. I actually paid for the first hosting of FeelDoThink with prize-money from a “remix” competition about OER. Shortly afterwards, I began doing a master’s degree in the OU in Online and Distance Education. (OU managers quite bizarrely decided to close down this course at the height of the online pivot )
The content and design of the site have been constantly changing. Now I really wish I had done a better job of curating and organising my work. Anyway the materials and ideas seem to fit into these four categories:
- Cosmist Bifurcation This combines a historical survey of thinking about technology which goes back to Prince Vladimir Fyodorovich Odoevsky and up to the Internation project inspired by Bernard Stiegler.
- Markdown for students which is a study approach combining markdown with software that uses it for note-taking and publishing.
- moodle community since about 2007 I’ve been working on the use of this learning environment in Russian higher education. I’ve always tried to connect the technical support side with more abstract concepts to do with pedagogical approaches.
- language models and EAP EAP is English for Academic Purposes. This topic appeared suddenly in 2023 as EAP teachers started coming to terms with the fact that the LLMs “large language models” were capable of automating practically everything that we are trying to teach.
