The H5P community award candidates

In the second annual H5P awards , I’m voting for the entry by Stewart Lamb Cromar. The reasons are technical, pedagogical and aesthetic.

# Technical

The overall container for the materials is the interactive book content type.

Inside however, there are different types, which are well chosen and really add to the ideas being communicated:

  1. Video
  2. agamoto to show the comparison between before and after and ios comparisons on July 6th
  3. timeline (13th April)
  4. image hotspots (November 17th)
  5. image slider on october 22 Maid of Fabuland.

# Pedagogical

The material is based on the author’s own experience, with personal reflections as well as useful knowledge that they learned on the way. The image hotspot works especially well to stress the symbolism of white sticks with different markings for people with visual impairments. I also liked that there are links to more detailed discussion in the author’s blog .

# Aesthetic

The sequence tells a story, and finishes with an inspiring discussion of a project made with lego. The “Maid of Fabuland” really is a work of art, and this H5P project captures the same spirit…but with educational purpose.
