In this example, we have a pretend student “demo 2” who is enrolled in the course “5500 B.C. The first city” in my website. They posted a question to the forum about obsidian tools:
The student goes to their profile and asks to delete all data:
After the request has been approved, this student will still be able to visit the site as most of the materials are open to “guest” access. However none of their personal data will remain. When any user looks at a forum where the student has participated they will simply see a message that this data is no longer available:
The site administrator will still be able to see the actions of this deleted user as they were recorded in the log. However, “demo 2” no longer appears in the list of users, so it is not possible to collect up their entries in the log by searching specifically for the student’s name.
